Error Message

Attempts to configure a print service in Portal for ArcGIS fail with the following error message returned:

Error:
The print service URL you have entered is invalid or inaccessible.

Cause

• The print service is not running in ArcGIS Server Manager.
• An incorrect print service URL is used when configuring a print service in Portal for ArcGIS.

Solution or Workaround

Start the printing service in ArcGIS Server Manager

1. Navigate to ArcGIS Server Manager and login as an administrator.
2. Click Services > Manage Services > Utilities.
3. Identify the print service, and click the Start button.

Note:
Alternatively, restart the print service if the service is running. Click the Stop button. After the service is stopped, click the Start button.

Ensure the correct is used when configuring a print service in Portal for ArcGIS. Refer to Portal for ArcGIS: Printing for more information on the correct URL format for the default or custom print service.
