Note: The functionalities of ArcGIS Collector, ArcGIS Explorer, and ArcGIS Tracker are now available in ArcGIS Field Maps. There are no new capabilities planned for these apps—all future updates will be focused on Field Maps. Migration is recommended. See ArcGIS Blog: Migrate to Field Maps for more information.
When downloading a web map for offline use with Collector for ArcGIS on iOS or Android, an error is returned:
"Invalid URL".
The following are examples of errors returned by Collector for ArcGIS on these devices.
Collector for ArcGIS on Android
Collector for ArcGIS on iOS
The web map contains a secured feature service with credentials stored in ArcGIS Online at the feature layer endpoint.
For Collector for ArcGIS to properly download the map for offline use, credentials must be stored at the top level, or the FeatureServer endpoint. This is because the Create Replica capability exists at the feature service endpoint and cannot be accessed through a feature layer endpoint such as FeatureServer/0 or FeatureServer/1.
If Collector for ArcGIS does not have access to the top level (FeatureServer endpoint), the download fails because the utility service is unable to determine if the service actually supports create replica or sync operations.
There are two options available to resolve the issue.
