The ArcGIS components in the high availability environment are:

  • ArcGIS Server 10.6.1 - High Availability
  • Portal for ArcGIS 10.6.1 - High Availability
  • ArcGIS Data Store 10.6.1 - High Availability
  • Federated Environment

Cause

This issue occurs if the Data Store is configured and created before federating with Portal for ArcGIS, and once Portal for ArcGIS replaces the ArcGIS Server's identity store, the credentials used to create the Data Store no longer exist.

Solution or Workaround

To resolve this issue:
  1. In Windows, run the Windows Command Prompt as an administrator and navigate to:
    C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\DataStore\tools
  2. Run the following command:
    unregisterdatastore.bat –-stores relational –-prompt no
  3. Navigate to the Data Store Configuration Wizard for the primary ArcGIS Server machine, and re-register the primary Data Store. Below is an example of the Data Store Configuration Wizard directory:
    https://<FQDN>:2443/arcgis/datastore
  4. Navigate to Server Manager and verify that the primary Data Store validates successfully.
  5. Once verified, return to the Data Store Configuration Wizard for the standby ArcGIS Server and register the standby Data Store.
