Summary

Importing Workstation ArcInfo files produces the following:

Invalid numeric input
Bad data in numeric field
IMPTX6
label error 9010
format # 10
Bad data:
Jaberwocky
Bad buffer:
Line number (this varies)

Cause

UNIX2DOS was used on an interchange file that was already converted to DOS. For instance, moving a series of interchange files with FTP will automatically perform the UNIX2DOS.

Solution

Run an imported file through UNIX2DOS only once. The PC version of this utility does not check if the file has already been converted.
