Invalid INSTALL.LOG file

Error Message

When uninstalling the ArcGIS/ESRI License Manager, the following error is received:"Invalid INSTALL.LOG file".


This error is sometimes caused by the License Manager service(s) running at the time of uninstall.

Solution or Workaround

  1. Navigate to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
  2. Locate any (or all) of the following three services and stop them by right-clicking on them individually and selecting Stop:

    ArcGIS License Manager
    ESRI License Manager
    FLEXlm Service 1
  3. Start the uninstall over again.
