ERROR

Inputs parameter not Raster Layer

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Error Message

When trying to Mosaic a raster dataset the Input Rasters return the following error:

"Inputs parameter not Raster Layer"

Cause

One or more of the Input Rasters do not have the same parameters as the target raster dataset. For example, this error would occur when trying to mosaic a 3-band TIFF to a 1-band raster dataset.

Solution or Workaround

Compare the properties of the target raster dataset and the source raster dataset and make sure they are similar. If they are not the same, a new raster dataset must be created to mosaic the source rasters into.

When using Create Raster Dataset, make sure that all of the input parameters are specified (Cellsize, Pixel type, Coordinate system, Number of bands). If these are not specified, the default values will be used. These default values might not match the source rasters and the Mosaic will fail.
