Informix server not found

Error Message

When installing SDE 3.0.2.2 for Informix on Windows NT, after clicking Next on the introductory page, this error pops up:You must install Informix Dynamic Server with
Universal Data Option before you can install
SDE.

Cause

The setup program cannot find the directory containing the installed Informix software.

Solution or Workaround

1. Make sure you have indeed installed Informix.
2. Make sure that the system environment variable INFORMIXDIR has been set to the path where Informix resides.
