When ESRI employees access the ArcWeb Services Account page, http://www.arcwebservices.com/v2006/account/index.do, the following error occurs: "HTTP 404 - File not found"

Cause

If ESRI employees are using VPN, the IP address for arcweb.esri.com is probably out of date in the host file.

Solution or Workaround

Proceed through the following options in the order given:

Refresh the Web page.
Open the host file in a text editor and delete all entries for arcweb.esri.com. These remain from when Arcweb was the internal ESRI homepage. The new Web page does not require internal privileges.
Close all Web browsers.
Open a new Web browser and access http://www.arcwebservices.com/v2006/account/index.do.
