Last Published: February 27, 2024

Error Message

When attempting to convert OpenSceneGraph Binary (OSGB) data to a Scene Layer Package (SLPK) using the Create Integrated Mesh Scene Layer Content tool in ArcGIS Pro, the process fails and returns the following error messages:

Error:
Failed to execute (CreateIntegratedMeshSceneLayerPackage).
Error:
The parameter is incorrect.
Failed to execute and parameter is incorrect error

Cause

The file lacks projection information. Typically, OSGB data do not include projection information in its metadata or any associated projection files, such as .prj or .wld3 files. Therefore, specifying an anchor point in the Anchor Point parameter of the tool is necessary for the data to be correctly displayed on the map.

Solution or Workaround

  1. In ArcGIS Pro, create a point feature class. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Create a stand-alone feature class for instructions.
  2. In the Geoprocessing pane, search for and select the Create Integrated Mesh Scene Layer Content (Data Management) tool.
  3. Specify the parameters for the tool.
    1. For Input Dataset, select the OSGB data for conversion. In this example, 3D_3d_mesh.osgb is used.
    2. For Output Scene Layer Package, specify an output destination folder.
    3. For Anchor Point, select Feature Layer from the File Suffix drop-down menu and specify the feature class created in Step 1.
    4. Click Run.
