Error Message
On Windows 2000, when trying to export a map to the TIFF format, saving it to the 'My Pictures' folder, one of two possible error messages may appear:"Check to make sure you specified a valid file name and that you have write access to the directory where the file resides.""An unexpected error occured while trying to export the map."
Cause
Windows 2000 marks the 'My Pictures' folder with a hidden read-only security permission; thus, the raster functionality cannot write into it.
Solution or Workaround
This problem was fixed in the ArcGIS 8.1.2 release.The only solution is to select a different folder with appropriate read-write permissions, as this hidden read-only security permission cannot be changed by a user or administrator.
