Error uploading file. Maximum file size of 100MB is allowed

Error Message

Attempts to upload files to ArcGIS Insights through the Insights page in ArcGIS Online fail, and return the following error message:

Error uploading file. Maximum file size of 100MB is allowed.

Cause

The error occurs when the file size is larger than 100 MB.

Solution or Workaround

As a workaround, add the large files to ArcGIS Online, and open the added files in Insights. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Add items for more information.

In Insights, the uploaded files are available on the Workbooks tab.

Note:
In ArcGIS Online, it is possible to upload files up to 500 GB.
