The following error message may appear when using the software authorization wizard in various environments: "Unable to prepare your authorization".
This error message is received when the authorization wizard is unable to complete when attempting to connect via the Internet.
Solution or Workaround
Esri recommends the following steps to resolve this problem:
- Repair the ArcGIS software installation.
- Apply ArcGIS License Manager and or Desktop 10.0 SP3 or the most current service pack.
- Apply any ArcGIS 10.0 patches that are appropriate.
- Re-authorize the ArcGIS software. Deauthorization or license appeal may be necessary.
