After moving a license manager to a new computer, an error is displayed when trying to start ArcMap.
The ArcGIS Desktop Administrator on the client computer is still pointing to the hostname or IP address of the computer where the License Manager was installed previously.
Solution or Workaround
- On the client machine, navigate to Start > Programs > ArcGIS > Desktop Administrator.
- Select the License Manager folder on the left, and click the Change button on the right
- Type in the new hostname or IP address of the computer that has the current license manager installed on it and then click OK.
