Error reading shape file - Unknown error
Error Message
When trying to access shapefiles delivered with BusinessMap, various errors occur in ArcView, such as:"Error in reading shape file"
"Unknown error".
Cause
The shape files delivered with BusinessMAP have been modified to improve performance with BusinessMAP. ArcView does not recognize those changes.
Solution or Workaround
The datasets provided with BusinessMAP are also provided with ArcView, except for the area code boundaries. Use each dataset with the appropriate application.
Note:
The shape files of the BusinessMAP layers have different extensions when compared with standard ArcView shape files, such as CVR, INI, GCD, PTS and PTX.
