Error Exporting Data

Error Message

When you create a selection set of CAD features in ArcMap, and attempt to export them using the Export Data command, the selected CAD features will not export. The following messages will occur:

"Error Exporting Data"

"Warning: Some records may not have been exported correctly"

"There was an error exporting the layer"

Cause

This is a known issue.

Solution or Workaround

1. Export the entire CAD feature class to a shapefile or geodatabase feature class.
2. Create a selection set using the newly created shapefile or geodatabase feature class.
3. Re-export the selected features to a new shapefile or geodatabase feature class.
