Error 1904: failed to register rasterworkspacefactory.dll

Error Message

Installing ArcGIS 9 on a system with Adaptec EasyCD Creator software installed may result in the following errors:

"Error 1904: failed to register rasterworkspacefactory.dll."

"Error 1904: failed to register basicrastersdeloader.dll."

"Error 1904: failed to register sderasterdb.dll."

Cause

Adaptec EasyCD Creator software can interfere with the registration of these three DLLs.

Solution or Workaround

Reinstall ArcGIS 9 after removing the Adaptec EasyCD Creator software.

1. Uninstall both ArcGIS 9 and the Adaptec EasyCD Creator software.
2. Reinstall ArcGIS 9.
