ArcGIS Pro: Delete Selected Features failed. The selection contains no editable features

Error Message

When attempting to delete a feature in ArcGIS Pro, the following error message is returned:

Error:
Delete Selected Features failed.
The selection contains no editable features. - No edits producing database changes were found.

Cause

• The annotation feature is not compatible with the current ArcGIS Pro version because the schema of the annotation feature is not upgraded to the current ArcGIS release.
• The data's coordinate system is undefined. Editing data with an undefined coordinate system is not supported in ArcGIS Pro.
• The feature dataset is read-only and not editable. For example, geometric networks and CAD feature datasets are not editable in ArcGIS Pro.

Solution or Workaround

Depending on the circumstance, the workarounds described below are applicable.

Use the Upgrade Dataset tool

Upgrade the annotation feature using the Upgrade Dataset tool. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Upgrade Dataset (Data Management) for instructions and more information.

Use the Define Projection tool

Use the Define Projection tool to define a coordinate system for the data. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Define Projection (Data Management) for instructions and more information.

Use ArcMap to delete features

Convert CAD data to GIS data
