Error: Comini is Already Open Could Not Open Serial Port Comini

Solution or Workaround

Summary

Upon start up of ARCEDIT(W) and DIGTEST(W), the following error message occurs:

comini is already open
could not open serial port comini
device already open.

Cause

The serial port is not accessible.

Solution

A crashed PC ARC/INFO session may have grabbed the serial port but not released it.

Reboot your system. If the error still occurs, it maybe because some other program is currently running and has control of the serial port. Un-install any WINTAB drivers and reboot again.
