Error Message

Note: This issue was fixed in ArcIMS 9.1.Attempting to open a configuration file that was prevously edited in a text editor on Windows 2000 and saved as UTF8, results in the following error message being returned:

"com.esri.cc.comp.Projectorg. xml .sax.SAXParseException:
Document root element is missing"

Cause

The use of non-English characters within the configuration file causes this problem.

Solution or Workaround

Use an XML editor such as XML Spy or Xeena instead of a text editor to make changes to a configuration file that includes non-English characters.
