Summary

While using a digitizer in DIGTESTW or ARCEDITW, this Windows 95 error occurs:

COM ERROR 8

Cause:

DAK is installed in a non File Allocation Table (FAT) sub-directory.

Solution

You need to be un-installed the DAK and re-installed in the appropriate subdirectory:

1. From Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\DAK and delete the DAK folder.

2. Delete the DAK shortcut icon from the desktop. If it is not on the desktop, right-click Start, left-click Open, double-click the Programs folder, delete the DAK shortcut icon.

3. Empty the Recycle bin.

4. Re-install the DAK. When the installation program asks where you want to install the DAK, select C:\DAK instead of C:\Program Files\DAK.
