Error Message

This error occurs when opening a project file:"Assertion: converted string to double failed at line ...."

Cause

A view in the project has a scale so small that it can not be accommodated by the hardware's precision capabilities.

Solution or Workaround

1. Open the APR file in text editor such as Notepad or WordPad
2. Search and replace all occurrences of the text "NaN" or "NaNQ" with 0.000000000
3. Save the file with a new name. This new project should open in ArcView.
