ArcGIS Monitor: Timeout awaiting connect for 5000ms

Error Message

When attempting to register ArcGIS Monitor Agent 2024.0 with ArcGIS Monitor Server, the process fails and returns the following error:

Timeout awaiting 'connect' for 5000ms

Cause

The ArcGIS Monitor Agent is unable to establish a connection with the ArcGIS Monitor Server because port 30443 is closed.

Solution or Workaround

Ensure port 30443 is open and firewalls are not blocking communication between the ArcGIS Monitor Agent and ArcGIS Monitor Server.

1. On the Windows taskbar, click the Start button.
2. Type PowerShell.
3. Right-click Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.
4. Run the following command:

Test-NetConnection -ComputerName "<machinename>" -Port 30443 -InformationLevel "Detailed"

Note:
If the connection over port 30443 fails, coordinate with the IT department to ensure the port is open. Once access is granted, the ArcGIS Monitor Agent registers successfully with the ArcGIS Monitor Server.
