ArcGIS Monitor: The server does not support SSL connections

Error Message

When attempting to register ArcGIS Data Store with ArcGIS Monitor, the process fails and returns the following error message:

The server does not support SSL connections

This error can occur when registering ArcGIS Data Store with a newly installed ArcGIS Monitor or after upgrading ArcGIS Monitor.

Cause

• Missing or improperly configured SSL certificates in ArcGIS Data Store. ArcGIS Monitor requires secure communication (HTTPS) with all registered components, including ArcGIS Data Store. If the SSL certificate is not correctly configured, the registration process fails.
• The enablessl parameter is set to false, which disables Transport Layer Security (TLS) for communication between the hosting server and the specified data store.

Solution or Workaround

Use the replacesslsertificate utility to replace the SSL certificate

Use the replacesslcertificate utility in ArcGIS Data Store to replace the missing or improperly configured certificates with valid certificates. Refer to ArcGIS Enterprise: Replace ArcGIS Data Store SSL certificates for instructions.

Use the changedbproperties utility to set the enablessl parameter to true

Use the changedbproperties utility in ArcGIS Data Store to set the enablessl parameter to true. The following is an example of the syntax used with the changedbproperties utility:

changedbproperties --store <relational/tileCache> --enablessl true
