ArcGIS Data Store has detected a replication failure

ArcGIS Data Store fails to validate, with the following SEVERE error returned in the server log:

Cause

This issue occurs when the primary data store and the standby data store are out of sync.

Solution or Workaround

Follow these steps to resolve this issue:

1. Run the Windows Command Prompt as an administrator.
2. Navigate to the ArcGIS Data Store utilities folder using the following command:

cd <ArcGIS Data Store installation directory>\DataStore\tools

3. Run the configurebackuplocation command utility to specify the backup folder path. Refer to Portal for ArcGIS: configurebackuplocation for more information.

configurebackuplocation --operation change --store relational|tileCache|spatiotemporal --location <backup location>

4. When prompted with Do you wish to continue (Yes or No)?, type Yes, and press Enter.
5. Run the removemachine command utility to remove the standby machine using the following command line:

removemachine <machine name> --store {relational | tileCache | spatiotemporal} [--force {true | false}] [--prompt {yes | no}]

6. On the ArcGIS Data Store standby machine, navigate to the following directory on the machine:

C:\

7. Rename the arcgisdatastore folder to arcgisdatastore_old.
8. Reconfigure the standby data store. Refer to Portal for ArcGIS: Add a machine for steps to do this.
