ArcGIS Field Maps: Arcade expression is invalid

Error Message

When collecting features in the ArcGIS Field Maps mobile app for Portal for ArcGIS using a map containing attribute rules configured in ArcGIS Pro, the following error message is returned:

Arcade expression is invalid.

Cause

The 'Exclude from application evaluation' option is disabled in ArcGIS Pro, resulting in attribute rules being evaluated locally prior to the application of edit requests to ArcGIS Enterprise. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Exclude from application evaluation for more information.

Solution or Workaround

1. Open the ArcGIS Pro project.
2. In the Contents pane, right-click the layer with the attribute rule configured.
3. Click Data Design > Attribute Rules.

4. In the Attribute Rules: <feature layer> view, click the Calculation tab.
5. In the New Rule pane, expand the Execution node and check the Exclude from application evaluation check box.

6. On the ribbon, click the Attribute Rules tab.
7. In the Attribute Rules group, click Save.
8. Overwrite the web layer. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Overwrite a web feature layer for further instructions.
