Error Message

When installing ArcGIS Data Reviewer for Desktop, the following installer information may be encountered:"Another version of the software has been found on the machine."

Cause

A version of ArcGIS Data Reviewer is currently installed on the machine and the compatible version of ArcGIS for Desktop has been uninstalled.

Solution or Workaround

1. Uninstall ArcGIS for Desktop.
2. Consult the list of installed programs on the machine and identify the ArcGIS Data Reviewer product that is installed. ArcGIS Data Reviewer can be installed as a standalone product or as a component of another product.
   • ArcGIS Data Reviewer 10 is compatible with ArcGIS Desktop 10.
   • Esri Production Mapping 10 is compatible with ArcGIS Desktop 10.
   • PLTS for ArcGIS – Foundation is compatible with ArcGIS Desktop 9.3.1.
   
3. Install the compatible version of ArcGIS for Desktop.
4. Do a complete uninstall of ArcGIS Data Reviewer or Esri Production Mapping 10 or PLTS for ArcGIS – Foundation.
5. Uninstall ArcGIS for Desktop.
