1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package

Error Message

During the installation of the ArcWeb Toolbar, if the installation program adds the .NET Framework, returning to the toolbar installation may display the following error:"Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

Cause

A change in the .NET support availability in ArcGIS prior to installing the ArcWeb Toolbar causes this problem. (The ArcGIS .NET support availability can be changed if the ArcGIS setup is run and the ArcGIS installation is modified.)

Solution or Workaround

1. Install .NET Framework independently from the toolbar installation program.
   To download the free .NET Framework from Microsoft's Web site, see the Related Information section below.
2. Run the ArcWeb Toolbar Set Up program.
   
3. Do not install the .NET FrameWork during the toolbar installation.
