Error Message

During the creation of a route layer in ArcGIS Pro and its subsequent publication to ArcGIS Enterprise, the software does not allow the route layer to be published. After a certain amount of time, it remains loading with no response until it finally returns Error 030206, "An unexpected error occurred during tool execution", as shown in the image below.

Cause

This is because the Spatial Analysis tools are stopped in ArcGIS Server Manager; these are required to run this type of task in ArcGIS Pro. When these tools are stopped, it is not possible to publish any type of task from ArcGIS Pro to ArcGIS Enterprise.

Solution or Workaround

Follow the steps below to activate the geoprocessing service from ArcGIS Server Manager:

  1. Go to the URL for the Spatial Analysis Tools service to verify that the service is running:
https://yourdomain/webadaptor/rest/services/System/SpatialAnalysisTools/GPServer
  • If the service is not running, it returns the following message:
"Error: Service System/SpatialAnalysis/GPServer not started Code: 500".

Confirming that the Spatial Analysis Tools service is not running in ArcGIS Server Manager

  1. Once you have verified that the service is not running, go to your ArcGIS Server Manager URL.
  2. Click the Services tab.
  3. On the left side, click the System folder.
  4. In the search bar, type Spatial Analysis Tools.
  5. Click the Play icon in the top right corner to start the service.
