"001795: Failed to consolidate project due to problem with Geoprocessing History item"

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Error Message

Execution of a geoprocessing tool in ArcGIS Pro may leave a result in the geoprocessing history list that later prevents a Pro project from being packaged. An example is the IDW tool, which can be found in three toolboxes: 3D Analyst > Raster Interpolation, Spatial Analyst > Interpolation, and Geostatistical Analyst > Interpolation.

Even when the tool has run successfully, a subsequent attempt to package the project may produce an error:

"001795: Failed to consolidate project due to problem with Geoprocessing History item: IDW."

Cause

The most likely cause for the error is that the input data used in the tool could not be found; it was either deleted or moved from the original location where it was stored when the tool was run. For instance, if the input were a map layer that was deleted during the processing of data in the project, the tool's input data would be missing.

Solution or Workaround

To resolve the issue, remove the tool's result from the project's geoprocessing history. This can be done from the Analysis tab > History button. In the Project pane, a folder called Geoprocessing History is opened. Right-click the entry for the applicable tool, and click Remove to delete it; alternatively, re-run the tool so that it is successful. Then re-run the packaging command.
