000483: Address standardization failed

Error Message

In ArcMap, when attempting to standardize addresses in a table using the Standardize Addresses geoprocessing tool, the following error is returned.

Error:   
Error: 000483: Address standardization failed.

Cause

This error occurs when conditions for the Output Address Data parameter are not met. The tool's Output Address Data Parameter requires saving the output table in a file geodatabase or adding a table extension if the table is saved to a folder.

Solution or Workaround

Save the output table in a file geodatabase, or manually add the dBASE (.dbf) file extension when saving the output table in a folder.
