Enable sync is grayed out on hosted feature layer in ArcGIS Online

Description

In the Settings tab of an ArcGIS Online hosted feature layer item page, under Editing Options within the Feature layer (hosted) group, the Enable sync (required for offline use and collaboration) toggle is grayed out and cannot be turned on or off.

Cause

One or more view layers created from the hosted feature already have Enable sync (required for offline use and collaboration) turned on. ArcGIS Online restricts changing the sync setting for the hosted feature layer if any of its associated view layers have sync enabled.

Solution or Workaround

1. Navigate to the details page for each view layer created from the hosted feature layer.
2. Click the Settings tab and scroll to Editing options under the Feature layer (hosted, view) group heading.
3. Toggle off Enable sync (required for offline use and collaboration).
4. At the top of the Feature layer (hosted, view) group, click Save.
5. After disabling sync on all view layers, return the Settings tab for the hosted feature layer.
6. The Enable Sync (required for offline use and collaboration) option is available to enable or disable.
