Enable Snap tips

Summary

In ArcMap, a user-assistance component that displays an on-screen description of the layer name or target being snapped to when the mouse pointer is paused over it can be enabled. This is called Snap Tips.

Procedure

1. Start ArcMap, add some data and then
   start editing.
2. Click on the Editor drop down menu.
3. Click on Options and then select General tab.
4. Click on the Show SnapTips checkbox.
   
   

   Note:
   Snap Tips only appear during an ArcMap edit session if they are enabled.
