Enable analytics in ArcGIS StoryMaps for ArcGIS Enterprise

Summary

In ArcGIS StoryMaps, the option to enable analytics within a story may be unavailable or disabled, preventing authors from tracking engagement and usage metrics for their stories.

Cause

Analytics must first be enabled at the ArcGIS StoryMaps organization level before they can be activated for individual stories. If organization-level analytics are disabled, story authors cannot enable analytics within their stories.

Note: 
Analytics for the organization is enabled by default on ArcGIS Online. It is only necessary to enable it on each StoryMap following the same workflow as in ArcGIS Enterprise.

Procedure

To enable analytics for stories in ArcGIS StoryMaps, perform the following steps:

1. Sign in to ArcGIS Enterprise with an administrator account.
2. Open the App Launcher and launch ArcGIS StoryMaps.
3. In ArcGIS StoryMaps, navigate to Organization Settings.

4.   Locate the Analytics setting and enable it for the organization.

5.   Save the changes.

Once analytics have been enabled at the organization level:

1. Open the desired story in ArcGIS StoryMaps.
2. Navigate to the story settings.
3. Enable Analytics for the story.

After completing these steps, analytics are available for the selected story and usage metrics can be collected.
