Does Esri support 64-bit processors with ArcGIS 10.0 products?

Support for 64-bit processors/operating systems ArcGIS 10.0 on Windows is supported on 64-bit processors and operating systems. In addition to Windows, ArcReader Standalone is supported on a Solaris 64-bit environment running as a 32-bit application. ArcReader 10.0 on 64-bit Linux is supported on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 4, (RHEL) 5, and SuSE 10.
ArcGIS Desktop on 64-bit ArcGIS Desktop 10.0 applications are natively 32-bit applications but take advantage of a technology known as large memory awareness. This means that individual processes, such as ArcMap.exe, may be capable of accessing more than 2GB of memory (up to 4GB) when run on a 64-bit OS. Note that some functionality and third-party libraries that are part of ArcGIS are not compatible with large-address-awareness, and as such, some portions of ArcGIS may not be able to address more than 2GB even when running on a 64-bit OS.
Terminal Server Support for 64-bit operating systems Terminal serving technologies running on 64-bit operating systems are able to provide ArcGIS Desktop applications with up to a 4GB address space. ArcInfo Workstation on 64-bit ArcInfo Workstation is a native 32-bit application and runs as a 32-bit application on 64-bit (x64) Microsoft Windows.
ArcGIS Server and ArcIMS on 64-bit ArcGIS Server for .NET and Java and ArcIMS are native 32-bit applications. They are both certified running as 32-bit applications on 64-bit (x64) Microsoft Windows. Web server support is based on the Web server vendor’s support of 64-bit Microsoft Windows. Check with the Web server vendor to determine if the Web server is supported on 64-bit Microsoft Windows.
In addition to Windows, ArcGIS Server for Java and ArcIMS are supported on a 64-bit Solaris environment. ArcGIS Server for Java and ArcIMS are supported on a 64-bit Linux environment.
ArcGIS Server for .Net and Java and ArcIMS are compiled to be large memory aware, meaning that on a 64-bit Windows operating system they can use the full 4GB address space accessible to 32-bit applications.
The ArcGIS Server Java ADF runtime is supported on both the 32-bit and the 64-bit Java Runtime Environments. Esri will continue to support the ArcSDE technology component of ArcGIS Server on 64-bit Solaris environments in releases beyond 10.0.
ArcGIS Engine on 64-bit ArcGIS Engine is a native 32-bit application and is certified running as a 32-bit application on 64-bit (x64) Microsoft Windows. In addition to Windows, ArcGIS Engine is supported on a Solaris 64-bit environment running as a 32-bit application. ArcGIS Engine on 64-bit Linux is supported on Red Hat Enterprise (RHEL)4, (RHEL)5 and SuSE 10.
ArcSDE on 64-bit ArcSDE is available as a native 64-bit application for Sun Solaris (Oracle, Informix, and DB2), HP HP-UX (Oracle), HP-Itanium (Oracle), and IBM AIX (Oracle, Informix, and DB2).
ArcSDE is also available as a native 64-bit application for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Informix, DB2, and Oracle on Windows and Oracle, PostgreSQL, Informix, and DB2 on Linux.
ArcGIS 10.0 License Manager The copy protection mechanism for ArcGIS Engine 10.0 and the ArcGIS Desktop 10.0 Concurrent Use product lines, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcView Concurrent Use, and ArcInfo Workstation, uses the FLEXnet Publisher v11.6.1 software. The upgraded License Manager supports all previously released ArcGIS 9.x Desktop and ArcInfo Workstation software. This version of the License Manager supports 64-bit Windows Operating Systems. Intel and AMD processors ArcGIS is supported on both the Intel and AMD 64-bit processor families, such as Xeon64 and AMD64, starting with ArcGIS 9.2 Service Pack 3 and higher.
