Geoprocessing Tool Parameters and Advanced Settings in ArcGIS Reality for ArcGIS Pro

Description

The following parameters/options in the Reality Mapping workspace creation wizard:

• The existing DEFAULT option in scenario parameter will be replaced with the DRONE option. 
  The option DEFAULT was being misunderstood as one that would work for all imagery types, when it was meant specifically for Drone imagery.

The following parameters/options in the Reconstruct Surface Geoprocessing Tool will be deprecated:

• DEFAULT option in Scenario parameter will be replaced with the DRONE option. 
  The option DEFAULT was being misunderstood as one that would work for all imagery types, when it was meant specifically for Drone imagery.
• LOW and MEDIUM options for the Quality parameter will be deprecated.
  These legacy options were only meant to be used for internal testing purposes. They do not lead to results of sufficient quality for any professional/real use-case.
• AUTO option for Area of Interest parameter will be deprecated.
• The following parameters from the Python interface will be deprecated: 
  DSM_CELL_POINT_COUNT, DSM_HEIGHT_COLORED, DSM_POINT_COLOR, DSM_POINT_COLOR_INTERPOLATE, DSM_CELL_SD, and DSM_ROUGHNES, areaX, areaY, areaZ, gpuStatus, applyGlobalColorBalancing, orthoEnhanceTexture, meshEnhanceTexture, colorBitDepth, dsmDepthBuffer, exportAdditionalTFWs, exportImagePyramidsInTIFFs, meshAndTextureFormats, 3dTilesOverImposeHeightsOnTargetEllipsoid, 3dTilesExportInPCS, slpkExportInPCS.
  These legacy options will be deprecated because the behaviors that they controlled have been either automated or made available in a more streamlined way.

In the Advanced Product Settings dialog, the Enhance True Ortho Texture and Apply Global Color Balancing will be deprecated. These are now applied by default as they offer a better product at negligible extra effort.

Recommendation

No impact is expected as backwards compatibility has been ensured for all changes.
