Support for .NET Framework, UWP, and x86 Windows in ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET

Description

The following technologies are deprecated in version 200.8 of ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET:

• .NET Framework
• .NET Standard
• UWP
• x86 support on Windows

This means the last version of ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET to support these technologies is version 200.8 (including all 200.8.x long-term support patch releases). Starting with version 300.0, ArcGIS Maps SDK 300.0 for .NET will no longer support them.

Recommendation

Customers actively developing their apps with ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET should consider adopting Microsoft’s recommendations:

• Customers still building with .NET Framework should update their projects to use .NET 9 or later
• Customers using UWP to build Windows apps should migrate their projects to use WinUI
• Customers building 32-bit Windows apps should update these apps to 64-bit

Customers must address the above items before they can upgrade to version 300.0 of ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET, due for release in Q2 2026. They can address them now with the 200.8 long-term support release, in preparation for 300.0.

Customers with no plans to upgrade to version 300.0 may still benefit from addressing the above items.
