ArcGIS LocateXT

Description

Effective May 22, 2025, Esri will deprecate the ArcGIS LocateXT extension for ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS LocateXT extension for ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro. This decision was made to streamline our product offerings and enhance overall user experience by integrating the capabilities of LocateXT into the core functionalities of ArcGIS.

Integrating LocateXT's features as core functionalities in ArcGIS comes with several benefits:

• Enhanced operational efficiency: The need for a separate extension is eliminated, reducing the administrative and technical burden on users. 
• Improved decision-making: Faster access to critical geospatial information will facilitate more timely and informed decision-making processes.

The integrated functionalities within ArcGIS will offer a more cohesive and efficient user experience, aligning with Esri's ongoing commitment to improving and expanding its suite of tools to meet diverse customer needs.

Recommendation

As a result of the deprecation of ArcGIS LocateXT, organizations will need to take the following action: 

• The functionalities of ArcGIS LocateXT will be fully integrated into ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS AllSource. Consequently, customers currently using the ArcGIS LocateXT extension for ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Enterprise must migrate to the Professional or Professional Plus user type. Or, if using ArcGIS Pro standalone, customers need a Standard or Advanced license of ArcGIS Pro standalone. This migration is essential to ensure continued access to the integrated functionalities without the need for a separate extension, thereby benefiting from a more streamlined and cohesive user experience.
