DEPRECATION

ArcGIS Data Reviewer Functionality

Last Published: October 9, 2025

Description

The ArcGIS Pro 1.0 release of ArcGIS Data Reviewer included Reviewer Workspace-based automated and visual quality control workflows to support interoperability with ArcMap. In subsequent releases of Data Reviewer for ArcGIS Pro, new workflows based on attribute rules were added to align with modern capabilities such as branch versioning, web editing, and attribute rules.

With the October 2025 release of ArcGIS Data Reviewer for ArcGIS Pro 3.6, the following tools will be deprecated: the ability to add Reviewer Batch Jobs and Reviewer Sessions as items to an ArcGIS Pro project, visual review tools (Flag Missing Features, Browse Features) and error management tools (Reviewer Table, Update Results panes). Geoprocessing tools that will be deprecated include those which support the Reviewer Workspace (Enable Data Reviewer, Create Reviewer Session, Delete Reviewer Session) and automated quality control (Execute Reviewer Batch Job, Write To Reviewer Table). These tools will no longer be included in future releases, beginning with ArcGIS Pro 3.7 slated for release in April 2026.

The removal of this functionality aligns with the retirement of ArcMap 10.8.2.

Recommendation

To prepare for this change, Esri recommends Data Reviewer customers using data quality control workflows based on the Reviewer Workspace to migrate to the latest version of Data Reviewer for ArcGIS Pro (currently 3.6) and ArcGIS Enterprise (currently 12.0) that use attribute rules-based workflows.
