Summary

In ArcGIS Pro 3.7, single-use license authorization details are managed by Esri's integrated Reprise License Manager (RLM) engine rather than the FlexNet Publisher storage engine used in previous versions. Consequently, clearing or renaming the legacy C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet folder does not clear or reset ArcGIS Pro 3.7 Single Use licenses.

This article outlines the trusted storage location for ArcGIS Pro 3.7 Single Use licenses and provides the procedure to manually clear these authorization records when standard deauthorization methods are unavailable.

Note:
The recommended and supported workflows to clear or return an ArcGIS Pro Single Use license are listed below:

Manually modifying or deleting the license storage file should only be used as a last resort.

Procedure

To manually clear or remove ArcGIS Pro 3.7 Single Use license authorization records from a machine, follow these steps:

  1. Close all active instances of ArcGIS Pro.
  2. Open Windows File Explorer and navigate to the following directory:
    C:\ProgramData\ArcGIS\LicenseManager\Pro
(Note: C:\ProgramData is a hidden folder by default in Windows. Ensure hidden items are enabled in File Explorer view settings if it is not visible).
  3. Locate the Pro.lic file.
  4. Clear the Single Use authorization records using one of the following methods:
    • Rename the file: Rename Pro.lic to Pro.lic_old. (Recommended, as it preserves a backup).
    • Delete the file: Permanently delete the Pro.lic file from the directory.
  5. Launch ArcGIS Pro and navigate to Settings > Licensing to confirm that the Single Use license authorization state has been cleared.
