CUSTOMLENGTH for dimension features does not work correctly

Description

When trying to change the CUSTOMLENGTH attribute for a dimension feature, the entered length does not display correctly.

Cause

The dimension feature class was created using a geographic coordinate system, such as North American Datum 1983 (GCS_NAD_1983) or WGS 1984 (GCS_WGS_1984).

Solution or Workaround

When creating the dimension feature class in ArcCatalog, select or import a Projected Coordinate System, such as State Plane or UTM.
