Description

When creating or upgrading an enterprise geodatabase in Oracle using ArcGIS Pro 3.7.2, the operation fails during the creation or update of geodatabase system tables and stored procedures. The failure occurs with an error indicating a mismatch between the expected and detected ST_Geometry release versions.

The following errors are returned.

Create Enterprise Geodatabase:

Failed to setup st_geometry type. ST_Geometry package c:\program files\arcgis\pro\\Resources\DatabaseSupport\Oracle\plsql\st_domain : release version expected 1178 - release version found 1177.

Upgrade Enterprise Geodatabase:

Updating server tables and stored procedures.
Could not update server tables and stored procedures. ( ST_Geometry package c:\program files\arcgis\pro\\Resources\DatabaseSupport\Oracle\plsql\st_domain_methods_body : release version expected 1179 - release version found 1177. )

Cause

It has been discovered that creating or upgrading an enterprise geodatabase in Oracle using ArcGIS Pro 3.7.2 fails. During the operation, a version mismatch occurs because the process expects a newer version of the st_domain_methods_body package than is currently installed.

Solution or Workaround

Do not use ArcGIS Pro 3.7.2 to create or upgrade an enterprise geodatabase in Oracle. Use ArcGIS Pro 3.7.0, ArcGIS Pro 3.7.1, or ArcGIS Enterprise 12.1 instead.

If the issue has already been encountered with ArcGIS Pro 3.7.2 while attempting an enterprise geodatabase upgrade, the existing geodatabase can continue to be used.

The issue is currently being evaluated for resolution in ArcGIS Pro 3.7.3 to allow the enterprise geodatabase upgrade and creation operations to complete successfully.
