Replace the ArcGIS Server Manager shortcut after installation

Last Published: May 21, 2025

Summary

In recent versions of ArcGIS Enterprise, after installing ArcGIS Server on a Windows machine, an item is created in the Start menu called 'ArcGIS Server Manager' that fails to work.  This is due to the shortcut pointing to http://localhost:6080/arcgis/manager, which is not a valid connection on a standard ArcGIS server install.

Te resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

Procedure

  1. Right-click the Windows desktop and select New > Shortcut.
  2. In the Create Shortcut dialog, under Type the location of the item, enter the URL using the fully qualified domain name where server is installed. For example:
https://FQDN:6443/arcgis/manager
  1. Click Next.
  2. For shortcut name enter Manager.
  3. Click Finish.
