BUG

Copy/paste of a geometric network from an enterprise geodatabase fails

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

Following an upgrade to a version 10 or later release, copying and pasting a geometric network from an enterprise geodatabase fails if the geometric network was versioned prior to the upgrade.

Cause

The geodatabase upgrade associates unnecessary metadata to some network system tables. The copy/paste operation attempts to copy this metadata, which causes an "Item not found" error when pasting.

Workaround

There is an SQL Script which can be run against the database through the DBMS client (SQL Management Studio for SQL Server or SQLPlus for Oracle) to clear the metadata from the network system tables. These scripts are only available through Esri Support Services. Please contact Support to confirm this issue.
