Configure the Experience Builder Edit widget for batch editing on related table records

Summary

This knowledge article provides the steps to perform batch editing on related records (Attribute Only) when selecting features on the map using the Select tool or the Select widget.

Procedure

For this demo, we are using this sample data: Hydrants with related inspections and violations 

  1. To edit related records, configure the form element for related records in a Map Viewer, for reference, see the following documentation:
  2. Open an Experience Builder Editor and add the Map widget and the Edit widget.
  3. Connect the web map to the Map widget.
  4. In the Map widget settings, navigate to Action > Add a trigger > Record selection changes.
  5. Select a target, choose Data > Select data records > Trigger data.
  6. Select the parent layer, for Action data, select the related table.
  7. Under Conditions, enable Trigger / action connection, and check Use layer's relationship.

  1. In the Edit widget settings, Content tab under Mode, select Attribute only, click New editable source, and select the related table.
  2. Under General, enable Batch editing.

  1. Either enable the Select tool on the Map widget or use Select widget to select the existing features for editing.
  2. The edit form can be seen for the related records display in the Edit widget.

  1. Update the common field(s) and use the Update (number of records) button for bulk update.

Note:
Batch editing on related table records only works in the ArcGIS Online version or Developer Edition 1.19 or later.
