Last Published: April 25, 2020

Error Message

If, for any reason, the user manually changes the 'Log On As' account of the 'ArcGIS Server Object Manager' service from the default 'ArcGISSOM' account to something else in Administrative Tools > Services, user may still be able to publish map services, but when publishing any model as geoprocessing service to ArcGIS server, an error message:

is logged and the geoprocessing service is empty.

Cause

The 'ArcGIS Server Object Manager' service needs to be run as the 'ArcGISSOM' account and we should not change this.

Solution or Workaround

Change the 'ArcGIS Server Object Manager' service's 'Log On As' account back to 'ArcGISSOM' and restart this service.

  1. Go to Administrative tools > Services, right-click on 'ArcGIS Server Object Manager' service and select 'Properties'.

  3. Restart ArcGIS Server Object Manager service.
