PROBLEM

Compute Camera Model fails with error (Failed to compute adjustment using engine 'Frame') when processing thermal data

Last Published: November 24, 2025

Description

ArcGIS Pro 3.6.0 and Drone2Map 2025.2.0 fail to adjust the image collection (Compute Camera Model) when using a thermal dataset. The processing log in both software shows the following message during the Adjust Images process.

Error:
Failed to compute adjustment using engine 'Frame'.

This issue is not triggered by a specific thermal camera model, but rather by the dataset's configuration (overlap, sidelap, subject, etc.).

Cause

The Esri aerial triangulation engine received an update in the latest release, which affects the bundle adjustment process for the affected thermal dataset.

Solution or Workaround

There are no workarounds available in ArcGIS Pro 3.6.0 and Drone2Map 2025.2.0. If a thermal dataset is presenting this error, it is recommended to install the previous working version (ArcGIS Pro 3.5.5 or Drone2Map 2025.1.1). No workarounds have been found for the affected engine to adjust the thermal dataset.

Note:
Image Adjustment process is expected to be fixed in the first available patch (ArcGIS Pro 3.6.1 and Drone2Map 2025.2.1)
