Can the the Java Connector's highlight layer be edited or altered?

Answer

No. The highlight layer is not designed as a seperate layer for the users to manipulate, it's meant for internal use by the ArcIMS Java Connector.

By design, this layer cannot be modified for editing or manipulation. For example, it is not possible to change the layer name, layer id, or the renderer.
