Frequently asked question

Can I model geodatabase topology using CASE Tools?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

No. Neither geodatabase topology nor topology rules can be modeled using UML or CASE Tools. However, topology rules can be saved to a rule file (.rul) and shared between topologies.

In addition, sample geodatabases have been designed for many of the ESRI data models, available from the data model website (see Related Information)

The topologies contained within the sample geodatabases can be used as a starting point for defining topology rules or sharing the rules through the user of the rule file.
