Frequently asked question

Can an enterprise geodatabase be used with triggers in the SQL Server Connector for Microsoft Power Apps?

Last Published: July 17, 2025

No, an enterprise geodatabase cannot be used with triggers in the SQL Server Connector for Microsoft Power Apps.

The SQL Server Connector requires the use of a ROWVERSION column and an IDENTITY column for triggers. While row versioning-based isolation is supported for enterprise geodatabases in a SQL Server, the identity data type is not supported.

Additionally, the Microsoft documentation for the SQL Server Connector states that data types such as Spatial Geometry Types and Spatial Geography Types are unsupported with the Power Apps.

Esri recommends use of the ArcGIS Connectors for Power Automate to connect to your ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise organization. If this is not possible for your organization, data in a standalone SQL table may be accepted by the SQL Server Connector.
