Can a standard AWS or Azure instance be used to install Esri software?

With both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure, the images provided must be used. Please view the links in the Related Information section for more details.

These images are designed so that the host machine information is configured as needed for each respective provider, with no further configuration needed beyond what is included.

There is a possibility that Esri software can be installed and working on a standard instance, but random issues and errors may arise.
